Petra Virtual Tour DVD

In its efforts to continuously protect and preserve the fragile World Heritage Site of Petra, the Petra National Trust (PNT) launched the Petra Virtual Tour DVD in September 2006.

Produced in collaboration with Phoenix Data Systems, the DVD allows viewers to manoeuvre their way around the sandstone city and explore every nook and cranny of Petra’s majestic monuments through a 360-degree field of view.  The Petra Virtual Tour DVD includes over 650 fully interactive photographs, an extensive glossary, interesting descriptions of the monuments, still photographs, video clips, and a satellite map of the area.

With the production of this DVD, PNT is providing an ideal souvenir of a visit to Petra, an informative guide on what to expect from a visit, as well as a learning tool for the education sector.  The Petra Virtual Tour DVD is intended to help emphasise the urgent need to conserve Petra’s outstanding values and representative samples of our nation and the world’s cultural heritage.  Proceeds from the sale of DVDs will go towards funding preservation and conservation projects in PNT’s endeavour to safeguard the unique and fragile site of Petra for this and future generations.
